With the approach of summer and hot weather especially in Upper Egypt as the temperature may exceed 45 C, BHA-Egypt has maintained the water trough, which attached with the shade shelter near Luxor temple.
The heat stress can be fatal. Equines suffering from heat stress become so vulnerable and incapable of performing their daily duties. The Brooke Egypt is raising the awareness of the owners and users about heat stress and the means of prevention. BHA Egypt field teams always encourage animal owners to water their animals and gave them ideas for making and using simple water troughs, and to provide their animals with rest under the shade.
It worth mention that, this shelter is one of three shelters built in 2012 to offer the tourism carriage horses in Luxor city place to rest under the shade and to access fresh water during the day.
