The Brooke team in Cairo had the pleasure of having 23 envoys from different countries in Africa and Asia - at the Brooke Old Memorial Hospital in Cairo. The Egyptian International Center for Agriculture (Central Administration for Foreign) chose to visit our hospital as a part of their course about 'The Animal Production and Health’. Our team gave them presentations about Brooke, the history of the relation between animals and man and each party’s responsibilities, and the role of animals in wars, especially Horses, and expanded to the history, different activities and the establishment of Brooke Hospital for Animals. At the end of the presentation, our vets explained to the visitors the concept of animal welfare in the shadow of the “5 Freedoms”.
The visitors then had the chance to meet our inpatient animals and know some simple steps of animal handling, pain signs and animal needs.
