Brooke Luxor participation in the Animal Welfare initiative organized by Dandara Cultural Center in Luxor city.

On Wednesday, March 6th, 2019, the Brooke Luxor team headed by Dr. Ghais Daoud “Brooke Luxor manager”, Dr. Ameen Heragy “senior vet” and Mr. Ahmed Gamal “Administrator” participated in the Animal Welfare initiative launched by Dandara Cultural Center. 
The main objective of this initiative is to improve the awareness of school children about animal needs and welfare.

Many governmental & non-governmental organizations participated in this initiative as Luxor Educational Administration, Luxor Veterinary Administration, Animal Care Egypt and EastWind.

The event started with a brief about Dandara Cultural Center activities followed by an introduction about the Animal Welfare initiative in cooperation with GOs & NGOs. During this event, Dr. Ghais covered the Brooke Luxor different activities, which help and support the working animals such as:
- Veterinary care service provision through four Mobile Clinic teams, those covering the downtown area, villages of Luxor governorate and southern part of Qena governorate, and the provided services based on actual needs of working animals including emergency services.

- Community work as raising owners/users awareness through educational messages focusing on general husbandry care and animals’ problems such as hoof problems, skin wounds, and skin diseases. Also, cooperation with GOs, NGOs and rural guides to deliver the educational messages to all family members of animal owning community.

- Building capacity of local service providers to improve their knowledge and skills about the best animal welfare practices aiming to provide better service.

It is worth mentioning that, this initiative began in March and will be continued until the end of December 2019.
