BHA Egypt is looking for a talented and energetic "Veterinary Officer

Brooke Hospital for Animals Egypt, is a non-profit organization, has been established in 1934 by the British lady “Dorothy Brooke” to relieve the suffering of working horses, donkeys and mules in need of care and attention and has a highly regarded reputation in this field.

BHA Egypt operates at 7 different centers through its static clinics supported with 28 mobile clinic teams covering about 207 locations all over Egypt.

BHA Egypt aims to provide sustainable improvement in the lives of working equines so that they live without suffering and their owners may properly maintain their animal, extend its life and uplift their own economic status within their local communities.

BHA Egypt is looking for a self-motivated and energetic “Veterinary Officer” to join Cairo team.

Purpose of role and key responsibilities:

The veterinarian is responsible for leading a well-trained team who aims to alleviate pain and suffering for the working equine through;

  • provide a high quality of Veterinary service at static and mobile clinics
  • Improve good Animal Welfare practices
  • Maintain high level of clinical work environment standards.
  • improve community engagement awareness
  • In addition to veterinary administrative tasks such as; recording of cases and drugs ... etc.

Qualifications & Skills:

-      Education: Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Medicine (Occupational licensing is a must)

  • Strong communication skills (written and oral); able to communicate effectively with co-workers and stake holders.
  • Very good command of English language (spoken and written).
  • Good knowledge of large animal handling is an asset.
  • Relevant computer applications literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Ability to learn and develop own skills
  • Ability to manage multi priorities
  • Self-motivated, innovative and willing to participate in the organization development and progress.
  • Active, hard worker and good fitness, as the nature of the work requires physical effort
  • Able to work for long hours that might extend beyond working hours.
  • Affinity with the charitable goal of the BHA Egypt organisation.

BHA Egypt is looking for a talented and energetic "Information and Communication Officer

Purpose of Role:

The ICO will participate in developing media and communication plans of Brooke Egypt and will contribute to and monitor its implementation. In particular the ICO will involve in fundraising, gathering and disseminating materials for communication information, after obtaining approvals of the ICO's supervisors, the ICO will act as liaison for the region's field staff in gathering stories, facts, data and photos to support Brooke Egypt’s fund-raising activities and publications as well as actively participating in raising awareness of Brooke Egypt and the issues that it addresses.

Key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Writing, Editing, Designing and fundraising.
  • Maintaining online communication and media database.
  • Maintaining good relations with the Media.

Qualifications & Skills:

-      Education: University degree in Mass Communication with 3 years of solid experience; preferably AUC graduate. Or 5 years of progressive work experience in media relations, public information, journalism or relevant communication field.

-      Excellent writing, editing, interviewing and proofreading skills both in Arabic and English: adept at writing clean, engaging copy under deadline pressure and respond quickly to a multitude of tasks.

-      Strong communication and interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and manage working relationships diplomatically; discretion and creatively.

-      Excellent networking and partnership skills; ability to establish good working relationship with regional, national and local authorities.

-      Excellent computer skills.

-      Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English are essential.

-      Affinity with the charitable goal of the Brooke-organisation

BHA Egypt is looking for a fresh graduate “Accountant

Purpose of Role:

To maintain and follow up all required financial records for Brooke Egypt operations, including all Regions; maintain treasury processes; to work effectively within a small team to deliver an efficient and professional accounting service.

Key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Keep computerized records of all financial transactions for Regions & HQ
  • Entry of all the transactions to; manual books, computer using excel sheet and a computerized financial system.
  • Analyse the expenditure and other TB items.
  • Apply any financial corrections on all aspects of Brooke Egypt operations as needed.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register
  • Filling of the documents for regions & HQ and keep it in a safety place
  • Maintaining of all ledgers

Qualifications & Skills:

-     Fresh graduate accountant 

-     Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel

-     High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail

-     Ability to work as part of a small team

-     Ability to work to tight deadlines

-     Good communication skills with colleagues in/ outside finance department

-     Ability to speak and read English

-     Affinity with the charitable goal of the Brooke-organisation
