Rural Guides

As part of Brooke Hospital for Animals – Egypt’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community awareness of animal welfare, and guided by the principle that prevention is better than cure, a field awareness activity was conducted in Al-Atwani Village, Edfu Center, Aswan Governorate.

The activity was implemented by trained rural guides, with the support and participation of Mobile Clinic (Code 54), led by Dr. Mohamed Alaa. It targeted various age groups within the local community, aiming to promote practical knowledge and encourage improved animal care practices.

The session focused on the importance of maintaining warmth and ensuring dry flooring within animal shelters. Particular emphasis was placed on the strong connection between damp ground conditions and hoof-related problems, which are among the leading causes of lameness in working equines.

Additionally, the activity introduced simple, practical measures that can be easily adopted by animal owners. These measures are designed to improve overall animal welfare, protect animals from common diseases, and enhance both their health and working performance.

Better lives for working animals. We make it happen.
