Al-Fayoum is a city in the Middle Egypt located 100 kilometers (62 miles) southwest of Cairo. Al-Fayoum is the capital of Al-Fayoum Governorate. Al-Fayoum has several large bazaars, mosques and a much-frequented weekly market.
The canal called Bahr Youssef runs through the city, its banks lined with houses. The center of the city is on the canal, with the four waterwheels, that are adopted by the governorate of Al-Fayoum as its national symbol; their bazaars are easy to spot.
Based on Brooke – Egypt annual plan FY 16-17 for expansion to reach for more working equine animal communities in- needs for Brooke – Egypt help, Al-Fayoum campaign was organized (12th – 17th Nov. 2016) by HQ team, Cairo, Mansoura and Edfu clinics staff support.
The campaign objectives were: to organize the Brooke Campaign comprising different veterinary care activities (veterinary, farriery, Saddlery services), and raising awareness in the targeted locations in El-Fayoum, to Identify and connect to active NGOs in the area and to discuss with the GOVs official and vet syndicate the potential future collaboration.
