The Best Horse Owner Competition in Idku

The “Best Horse Owner” competition in Idku, a city in Beheira Governorate, Egypt, known for its vast agricultural lands and fish production, is held annually in a festive atmosphere. The event was organized by the mobile clinic from Brooke Alexandria, which regularly visits Idku as part of its outreach.

Participants are evaluated based on specific criteria, including Body Condition Score, skin and wounds, eyes, nose, harness, joints, lameness, hoof and shoeing condition, and the owner’s handling of the horse.

The first-place winner receives a cash prize and a horse statue, while other top winners are awarded cash prizes and medals, and all participants receive nominal amounts as encouragement for taking part.
