Beni-Suif Governorate is one of the governorates of Egypt. It lies in the southern to Cairo governorate. According to the (UN), Beni-Suif Governorate has the highest equine animal population allover Egypt.

Based on the Brooke – Egypt annual plan for expansion to reach the working equines communities in- needs for the Brooke – Egypt help, and in cooperation with Beni-Suif veterinary administration, many campaigns were organized started from 2015 with participation of  Headquarters, Cairo,Mansoura, Alexandria, Matrouh, Luxor and Aswan clinic teams. Beni-Suef campaigns are repeated in yearly basis.

The campaign objectives includes to raise owners / users and community members awareness about animal welfare and good practices, to reach animals in need for the Brooke – Egypt services outside the coverage area, to identify and connect to active NGOs, to exchange experiences and capacity building of local vets in the targeted areas, to discuss with the GOVs official and vet syndicate the potential future collaboration, to develop base line for monitoring and impact measurement (ABIs & Human Behavior Change) and to develop understanding of the gravity of the internal parasite burden in the governorate.

This was performed through In-Site Lab work. Fecal samples were collected from the equine working animals.

The samples were processed and undergoes lab examination using Mc-Master Slide technique to assess the type and severity of parasitic infestation.
