The Brook Hospital and Sharkia Veterinary Administration in (Sharkia Governorate) collaborated to organize awareness and treatment campaigns in the villages of Bani Ubaid and Menia al-Qamh on Tuesday, May 16, and Sunday, June 9, 2024, respectively. The campaigns were led by the mobile clinic team leaders, Dr. Ahmed Nabil, Dr. Mohab Rajab, and Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, and aimed to alleviate the pain and suffering of the working animals.
In total, the campaigns provided veterinary examinations for 388 animals and 492 treatments. The teams also worked to improve the awareness of 253 animal owners and users about best animal welfare practices. They provided hoof care for 137 animals, maintained 135 harnesses, and distributed 70 new head collars and 160 noseband covers. The campaigns also provided a good opportunity to exchange experiences with the government veterinary unit about the most common equine diseases and their treatments, and prevention.
