On August 20th, 2024, for the 2nd year in a row, as part of awareness-raising activities, Dr. Mohamed Hassib, the Mobile Clinic team leader, organized the Best Donkey Owner competition in North Selwa village, with support from the Edfu Clinic team. The main objective of the competition was to encourage animal owners and children to take better care of their animals and promote animal welfare.

A total of thirty animal owners participated in the event. Sixteen animals were evaluated based on specific criteria, and the top ten winners received certificates and small cash rewards.

It’s worth noting that two weeks before the event, the mobile clinic team, rural field guides, and local health providers announced the competition and the assessment criteria to motivate local animal owners to participate.
