Overview:
Since the volunteer team joined our weekly mobile clinic visits in Tersa (Tuesdays) and Nazlet El Saman (Wednesdays), we have seen a growing group of dedicated volunteers who support our animal welfare and awareness initiatives on the ground. The team focuses on providing water for all, raising awareness about animal welfare for small animals, preventing rabies and bites, and advocating for compassion towards all animals, including horses, donkeys, mules, cattle, goats, lambs, and birds.
Volunteer Team:
Our volunteer team primarily consists of passionate young individuals from Giza and the surrounding areas, including high school and university students like Omar Samy, a 17-year-old studying Tourism, & Hotels and active animal guardian in rabies community coordinator team, Rokaya Ahmed, a school student and Animal Guardian in the rabies community coordinator team, managed by Ms. Dina. Adult supporters such as Mrs. Seham, Shaza, and PhD Dalia Sharkawy from the Faculty of Fine Arts, and an animal welfare activist also contribute to our efforts. The team is led by Ms. Dina Zulfikar, a well-known, dedicated, certified Rabies Community Coordinator, animal rights and wildlife activist.
Motivations:
The team’s motivation comes from a shared concern for animal welfare and a strong desire to raise awareness and create tangible change within their communities.
Achievements:
Since our launch on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, the volunteers have actively supported two weekly mobile clinics one in Tersa on Tuesdays and another in Nazlet El Saman in the Pyramids area on Wednesdays. They engage in public awareness efforts, assist with basic animal care, and help administer rabies vaccinations in collaboration with GOVS. Additionally, volunteers have created promotional reels shared on social media.
Volunteers’ Impressions:
◦ “I am happy about this and even happier that I found people who help animals from their hearts.” – Omar
◦ “Animals are in dire need of medical care and water. Under the slogan ‘Water is a right for all animals,’ I am proud of the amazing work Dina is doing and hope she continues her efforts.” – Rokaya
